LIQUID RUBBER VEZLAR™


Liquid Rubber Vezlar™ is a modified elastomeric asphalt emulsion specifically formulated as a spray applied protective surface coating. Liquid Rubber Vezlar™ is part of a dual component system that is applied using a specifically designed spray applicator. The technology advances in Liquid Rubber Vezlar™ give a quick setting coating membrane that is solvent-free and has excellent strength, elasticity and adhesion.
Liquid Rubber Vezlar™ is an environmentally friendly protective coating which can be applied indoors and outdoors with no specialized protective equipment.

USES
Liquid Rubber Vezlar™ is used as a protective coating to prevent water and corrosion damage. Liquid Rubber Vezlar™ can be used for rust protection of ferrous materials and is also of value for noise and vibration dampening Liquid Rubber Vezlar™ is also appropriate for use on concrete structures, slabs and parking decks.

APPLICATION
Liquid Rubber Vezlar™ is applied as a dual component system using a specially designed spray system. Both components of this system are water based and environmentally friendly. Applied at ambient temperature (above 5°C) Liquid Rubber Vezlar™ sets almost instantly, forming a seamless flexible membrane.
Liquid Rubber Vezlar™ is a safe alternative to conventional hot-applied or solvent based protective coatings. Liquid Rubber Vezlar™ should be applied to a dry surface which is free of dirt, debris, oil or grease. The product sets up rapidly, however it is not recommended to apply any protective coating product if heavy rains are imminent.
For best results apply in thin coats. With joints or cracks in the surface it is recommended that fabric reinforcing be used. In some cases initial ‘flood coating’ with one component may be recommended. See application manual or consult with your Liquid Rubber Engineered Coatings representative for further details.
Liquid Rubber Vezlar™ is to be applied between 0.3-0.6 m2/litre (15-30 ft2/gal) to produce a 40 mil protective membrane to 0.175 m2/litre (7.5 ft2/gal) to produce a 160 mil membrane. Typically Liquid Rubber Vezlar™ will dry to the touch in one minute and is largely cured within 48 hrs. The final cured properties may, however, not be realized for 28 days. Typically a crew can spray 6,000 ft2 (560 m2) per day. Protection board or insulation may be applied to the membrane surface after an initial set time of 20 minutes.

LIMITATIONS
Liquid Rubber Vezlar™ is mildly alkaline. When applying this product observe normal safety precautions, wear gloves, eye protection and other suitable protective equipment.

Liquid Rubber Vezlar™ should not be applied when the ambient temperature is below 5°C. The uncured membrane may be damaged if frozen. Do not apply to wet or frozen surfaces or directly before a rain.
Some surface base coat materials such as coal tar are unsuitable for use with Liquid Rubber Vezlar™. Consult your Liquid Rubber Engineered Coatings Technical Representative with any questions.
